In the configuration modal for the button (in the formbuilder) there are three actions the user can choose:

• Redirect to a Content item
• Redirect to an URL
• Show a message

The problem is slightly different on 3.3 vs 4.6

On 3.3:

The "submit" button for this modal may closed by the user after he chooses any action type, but don't provide any value (Content item, URL or message). This happens even though field appears as required ( marked with '*')

On 4.6

ATM, it is always validated if user has provided a message ( not matter if user selects any of the two other action types. This is being fixed by IBX-7854.

However, with the fix for IBX-7854 applied, the application behaves in the following way:

• When uses selects "Redirect to a Content item"
  • It is not validated that user actually selects a content item:
  • expected : Validate that user has selected an content item
• When uses selects "Redirect to a Content item"
  • Redirect to an URL
  • expected: Validate that user actually provides an url
• When uses selects "Show a message"
  • Application correctly validates that user provides a message
