Currently different doc pages describe adding configuration keys in different ways, either indicating a specific file or not, either explicitly mentioning the config key, or just pasting an example code snippet.

We need to start using a standard that:

• clearly says where the configuration can be placed
• doesn't encourage bad practices
• is consistent between pages
