php cli scripts (e.g. update/common/scripts/convertxmllinks.php) fail, if mysql.so is not loaded, but the error message is just that a fatal error happened. There should be a better error message so users know where to fix this problem.

On Debian, different configuration files are used for Apache, cgi and cli, so it can be that the site runs without problems, but the command line tools don't work.
