Description
Hi,
I've installed multiple sites and site accesses which are using one db. The main advantage of this approach is that you are able to do a general search over all sites and share user-accounts.
The main disadvantage is that you can't assign content-trees to a specific "domain" or "site". You have to do that "manually". (e.g. I set the start nodes of a content-tree which belongs to a site in the site.ini)
My workarounds are not optimal.
I can't use the "normal" notification system because in the cron-job you can only specify one site-access. So in all notifaction-mails only one template-set is used. (e.g. I have different designs for the mails for each site I've installed)
So what I would need:
-) An additional table where the site access, the belonging domains (and a "main domain") and the belonging template-settings are stored.
Maybe it's a good idea to modify the section-system too. (Add. fields for default "domain", "additional domains")
If I am doing a search at one site, I need also the info, if the content is belonging to the current site. If not, the url-operator should add the host of the site.
And - last point - the content which is not belonging to the current site should not be accessable at this site.
e.g. article /content/view/full/444 is belonging to "site1.com"
you are currently viewing "site2.com"
If you type site2.com/content/view/444 a 404 error should appear.
I am sure, that there are more points which are belonging to this topic.
So, is ez planning to add these (or similar) features in future versions?
Kind regards,
Emil.
