Since literal HTML (when added in an XML block) is passed into solr without being stripped, it results in the highlight containing some partial HTML that breaks the rest of the page. The open tags could be prevented by incorporating the solr HTML Stripper command as an option. Ideally, this would only affect literal blocks.
