trash_object_list does not give access to all params of eZContentObjectTrashNode::trashList

if it did, we could easily add a filter toolbar on content/trash

In 3.9 trash_object_list has ObjectNameFilter, but eZContentObjectTrashNode::trashList also supports SortBy and AttributeFilter which should be valuable for large sites.

But does SortBy let you sort on deleted date ??
