      This field types is missing in Public API.

        Afaik not before earliest April/May, so might not make it for 5.1.
        But could be that Netgen intends to do some work here that I don't know of.

        We still haven't decided what to do, but in general we at Netgen all agree that itcwould be better if we do a bundle instead of baking the field type inside the kernel.

        We will get to it, but I'm not yet sure when.

        Thought it was planned to make it part of core for several years now and replace keywords, and this is the possibility to make that happen.
        If you want to make a special gui on top or something, that might or might not make sense in a bundle. But the field type should be in core and be supported by Public API and REST API out of the box if it is to be the replacement for keyword.

        I know it was discussed when first released, but I never knew it was planned/decided.

        Our reasoning was more along the way that it would allow possible faster release cycles than core.

        Just as an FYI, eZ Tags 2.0 and TagsBundle 2.0 (multilanguage variants) were released a week ago
