I'm working on implementing support for 4.6.0 to ezupgrade, and I've taken notice of this script (result of http://issues.ez.no/17781)
I feel this script will find a better home in the bin/php directory.

This script should be executed before an upgrade, to minimize data transfer (we've saved gigabytes by removing these recursive trashed folders in the past).
In the past, update/common/scripts has been used for scripts that should be executed after the actual upgrade.

Executing this script through ezupgrade (no quiet flag) causes some problems, since the notice tells the user to hit ctrl-c to abort. This will abort ezupgrade as well.
Running it in quiet mode isn't an option either, since this script requires the trash to be emptied before the script is executed.
