With the image shell handler it is currently not possible to convert PSD files with a propper result.
To convert a PSD into a preview image a specific layer must be choosen.
This will be done by a postfix in the convert statement

convert myimage.psd[0] -flatten preview.jpg

This "[0]" postfix cannot be set in the image.ini settings.
Attached a patch which will provide the functionallity.
